VIOLENT CRIMES
Violent crimes includes offenses such as Aggravated Murder, Murder, Vehicular Homicide, Felonious Assault, Assault, and Domestic Violence. These offenses are serious charges that include the potential for lengthy prison terms. Our firm is one of the very few in the state who have successfully won jury trials for Aggravated Murder and had Murder charges dismissed. It is very important to have representation who are experienced in these types of crimes due to the gravity of the charges.
SEX OFFENSES
Sex offenses includes crimes such as Rape, Sexual Assault, Sexual Battery, Gross Sexual Imposition, and Child Pornography. These are serious felony charges that carry potential sentences including prison and sex offender registration. Having counsel that is experienced in these specialized cases and issues is important to avoid these serious consequences. Many sexual offenses arise out of issues regarding age and consent. FEDERAL CHARGES
Griffith Law Group represents individuals charged with federal crimes in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Federal courts are subject to Federal Sentencing Guidelines which set forth very strict sentences to individuals charged with such crimes. Federal charges are very different than state charges and require experienced counsel to navigate through the federal court system. We also represent individuals charged with immigration offenses in the federal courts with the goal of avoiding deportation.

Drug offenses include the manufacture, distribution, possession, and trafficking of narcotics such as fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and marijuana. Griffith Law Group firmly believes that individuals would benefit much more from treatment and rehabilitation than prison terms. We are often able to resolve these cases through treatment rather than incarceration.

Operating a Motor Vehicle while Impaired, commonly known as DUI or DWI, is one of the most common charges an individual face. These are very technical cases involving breath tests, urine tests, blood tests, and field sobriety tests. OVI offenses are serious charges that can result in incarceration, license suspensions and revocations, probation, mandatory counseling, vehicle immobilization and forfeiture, and monetary sanctions. ORDERS OF PROTECTION
Orders of Protection are civil judgments that require an individual to cease contact with another person and to remain a physical distance away. Violation of these orders can result in criminal charges. Orders of Protection can last for up to five years and may be renewed. An individual who is subject to an Order of Protection may be prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm. Griffith Law Group represents both petitioners, those seeking to obtain an Order of Protections, and respondents, those defending themselves against an Order of Protection.
THEFT OFFENSES
Theft offenses include crimes such as Burglary, Robbery, Receiving Stolen Property, Theft, Fraud, and Forgery. These types of cases can often be resolved without conviction through payment of restitution or alternative programs0. For more serious offenses, we seek to minimize any term of incarceration or to enroll our clients into counseling or drug treatment to avoid imprisonment.

There are many types of misdemeanor offenses such as Domestic Violence, Theft, Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and traffic offenses. Our firm has represented thousands of clients in the mayor’s courts and county courts throughout Ohio. Misdemeanor offenses carry potential jail time, probation, and fines. We have achieved dismissals, not guilty verdicts, and desirable outcomes through trials and plea negotiations. Although misdemeanors are less serious than felony charges, the impact on an individual’s life can be very serious. These charges require experienced and aggressive representation.

Gun offenses include crimes such as Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Weapon under Disability, and Wrongful Discharge of a Firearm. Many crimes may also have firearm specifications which add an additional one to three year prison term for the offense charged. Some crimes, such as Domestic Violence, may also prohibit an individual from owning or possessing a firearm.
